José Capaz (Havana, Cuba. 1988) estudied in the San Alejandro Academy of Arts, in the period 2006-2010. He founded in the same year the art collective Stainless, along with Alejandro Piñeiro Bello and Roberto Fabelo Hung. He studied in the University of Arts during the period 2011-2015. Some of its most important solo exhibitions (as a Stainless member) are STAINLESS (Centro Hispanoamericano de Cultura, Habana, 2011), One of a Kind (The 8th Floor Gallery, Rubin Foundation, New York, 2014), Una Mente Caótica (The Studios of Key West. Key West, USA, 2015), and Ola Cuba (Lille 3000, Lille, Francia, 2018). He has also participated in collective exhibitions as Zona Franca (12da Bienal de La Habana, Fortaleza de La Cabaña, La Habana, 2015), Nuevos Colores (Robert Miller Gallery, New York, 2015) and La madre de todas las artes (Centro de Arte Contemporáneo Wifredo Lam, La Habana, 2016). He has been beneficiary of scholarships given by The Rubin Foundation (New York, 2015) y The Rockefeller Foundation (New York, 2017).

His work is included in international collections as The Gilbert Brownstone Collection (Paris), Pérez Art Museum (Miami), Chrysler Museum (Virginia, USA) and The Family (New York, USA).

Funda en ese mismo año, junto a Alejandro Piñeiro Bello y Roberto Fabelo Hung la plataforma creativa grupal Stainless. Cursó estudios en el ISA durante el período 2011-2015. Entre las exposiciones personales (como miembro de Stainless) más destacadas en las que ha participado se encuentran STAINLESS (Centro Hispanoamericano de Cultura, Habana, 2011), One of a Kind (The 8th Floor Gallery, Rubin Foundation, New York, 2014), Una Mente Caótica (The Studios of Key West.
